Flick Prayer Letter 2
Flick Prayer Letter 2

Hello wonderful people!! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and happy New Year :) it was really great to get the opportunity to see some of you for the short period I was home. Yet I felt an urgent need to update you all on what’s been going on since my last prayer letter as so much has happened!!
The remaining months of 2007 were really tough as I was moved around to different houses in different towns which made it really hard to settle into Manchester. At this time we still were not doing any prison missions which was frustrating however, I believe that God used this time to allow us to gel as a team, and get the performance to a high standard before the Tour started as well as challenge me personally so that I would grow deeper in my relationship with Him. These months were a struggle, but God remained faithful in providing strength for me when I turned to him in weakness.

On the 16th December we started our first prison mission in Durham!! This was definitely the highlight of my year so far. On the Sunday we arrived and performed Out of the Box to about 100 women and young offenders… it was such a buzz and went down really well! Quite a few came up to us at the end and spoke about Hope and what it means to them.
We then did the Hope course with 10 girls. This involves a series of drama workshops that teach drama techniques through exercises and games and explores the theme of Hope through discussions and sketches. In one of these discussions one of the girls said that when you’re in prison not many people take the time to visit you but that we brought Hope to them and it meant a lot that we came in because it shows that we care. To be honest a little tear appeared upon my eye. By the end of the week the girls produced their own sketch about bringing Hope to people at Christmas and performed it at the carol service on the Friday afternoon.
We had a lot of fun throughout the week but some of their stories are heartbreaking… it was hard coming out before Christmas. Something I found amazing was that they were all on a journey with God at some stage. One girl had become a Christian in prison and got baptized the week before. I read her testimony and was stunned at how God changed her life. Praise God that Jesus is alive today and heals those who are broken!

I arrived in Manchester less than a week ago and was welcomed by a lovely host family! Meg and Pete have opened up their home to me; they have two children Andy, 16 and Amy, 14 who I get on with really well. I feel so Blessed that God has provided me with a loving family here in Manchester and a comfy bedroom where I can finally unpack my suitcase! :p

Before I came here I was in Wales at Youth for Christ’s yearly Staff Conference. This was a great chance to catch up with friends made at the start of the year and make new ones as well as hear amazing stories about what Gods been doing all over the country! It was a fabulous way to start the year of HOPE 08 with lots of prayer and encouragement for one another and from God. I really believe Gods got huge things in store for this year that will transform many lives so if you’re not involved in this Revolution I’d encourage you to get stuck in with your local church and allow God to use you to BE THE MIRACLE (sorry I couldn’t help getting a bit of the Bruce Almighty in there) but most of all have, Faith that God will do incredible things!

Anyways enough about me, more about you… please feel free to drop me an email in response letting me know about what you are up to! Makes me smile lots when people reply, so Thank You.
