Knowle Parish Church 600th Anniversary Celebrations
Knowle in Bloom and Entertained

In June we saw a wonderful displays of local talent and commitment, as the community in Knowle continued to celebrate the 600th anniversary year of the buildng of the Parish Church.

Over 2000 people visited the Church during the weekend of 6th to 8th June to see an amazing range of displays, depicting the history and message of Christian love in over 25 floral creations. Planned over the past year and put together in a frantic, sleep-free week, Knowle Parish Church Flower Guild, supported by members of Flower Clubs from Knowle and Dorridge created an atmosphere and environment that tugged at every emotion of the visitors. Art and spirituality merged to leave those lucky enough to visit amazed at the power of the arrangements and touched by the message of the love of Christ.

Just more evidence of a great community spirit and a reminder, if one were needed, of the talent and enthusiasm of the community in Knowle.

Flower Festival
Knowle Parish Church
1999
Flowers and hand props in 24 massive arrangements filled Knowle Parish Church at the beginning of June. This historic 600 hundred year old building was decorated to maximise its beauty as skilled florists, including Pearl Frost who has international competitions for her work, illustrate the history of Knowle Parish Church through floral masterpieces.

The festival was open to everyone and was an opportuntity for the community to come together to celebrate 600 years of its Parish Church. Funds raised through the sale of programmes went to World Vision, a Christian charity working internationally in communities where the essentials of life are missing. Thier initiatives include work with those affected by HIV/Aids, help for a lost generation in Rwanda and those suffering from the effects of drought.

The last flower festival was in 1999 and raised over £11,000. Lets see whether as a community we can beat this figure for the church's 600th Anniversary!
Pearl Frost's interpretation of the Holy Spririt arranged for Knowle's last Flower Festival.

Pearl has been given the main alter and surrounding area to decorate and again this promises to be a fantasic display of colour, fragrances and creativity.
Charmain Best's Praying Hands arranged for the Flower festival in 1999.
Chariman has already come up with ideas of models she will make for this year's festival and they promise to be as interestingly and skillfully made as her previous works.
The Flower Guild decorates the Church for Sunday Services and also does flower arrangements for Weddings and Festivals (Harvest, Christmas, Easter etc.)
