| `Money Matters' All the staff and activities at our Church are financed by voluntary donations. Additional support is always welcome!
Information about giving regularly, by Standing Order or the Weekly Gift Envelope scheme, is available on the website
One-off contributions can be made through Gift Aid Envelopes, available at the back of Church.

| Thank you …….. The financial needs of the Church in Knowle are met by the generosity of many people.
During last year we were able to increase our staff resource, and delighted that a special Gift Day raised £115,000 - well over half the cost of an additional staff home, which will be well used for the years to come.
In addition, more money has also been used for supporting other Churches, and Christian projects both locally and overseas.
Thank you to all involved in this!
But ………. The second half of last year was a difficult time economically, and this has affected a number in our congregation.
People have also moved away to take up jobs elsewhere, and sadly several members of the Church have died.
All this means that we had a shortfall in our regular ongoing donations of about £14,000 for last year, and a possible shortfall this year of about £30,000!
That's a lot of money - can you help us fill the gap?

| The facts ………. Our expenditure last year was about £420,000 (less than our budget - because we made some savings). Of this amount, we spent about £195,000 on staff, supported outside projects with over £80,000, and ran all the activity and buildings with the rest - no small task!
Our income last year was about £406,000, £14,000 less than the expenditure! We don't have large reserves in the bank, so that's quite serious!
By God's grace we want to continue to develop the work in the Church here. Being able to finance it is important!
If everyone who gives to the Church was able to increase the amount they give by inflation each year, we would receive an additional £10,000 - that's about a third of what we need already!
The government want to encourage people to give to charities, and we can claim back any tax you pay on what you give. Last year that amounted to over £60,000 and well over 250 people in our Church have joined this `Gift Aid' system! It's easy to do if you haven't done so already.

| How can I help? Are you supporting the Church financially already?
Most people who come regularly are already supporting the Church financially with a planned giving scheme, generally Standing Orders or Weekly Gift Envelopes - thank you!
In view of our urgent needs, could you look again at how much support you can give? It may only be a small increase for inflation, or a one off extra donation because of a bonus or gift you have been given. Lots of small increases can make a great difference to us!
Are you new to our Church, or haven't yet started giving?
Perhaps you've been coming for a while, but not yet started contributing financially through a planned giving scheme. Doing so would help us a lot, and also make you feel more a part of what is going on here. Giving through a Standing Order, or a Weekly Gift Envelope is straightforward to arrange. Please do start - soon!
What about the tax?
Are you a tax payer? If so, are we getting the tax back on what you give? If not, then there is a simple form to complete to help us do so.
By doing so, every £10 that you give can become £12.80.
Could you remember the Church in your will?
Has Knowle Parish Church been your spiritual home for a number of years? Would you be able to remember the Church in your will? It's simple to do, and we have information available to help you. Legacies have been a great help to us over recent years.

Tick the additional section on the other side if you would be happy for us to contact you regarding donations in specific areas, or if you require further details on: Making a Legacy, Standing Orders, the Weekly Gift Envelope Scheme, or would like to have a chat about anything to do with Christian giving.
Even if you can't change what you are giving, or give anything at the moment, please fill in, and return the form. It is important to know for our planning purposes.
