THURS 11. The Archbishop of Canterbury’s concern about the possible division of the Anglican Communion due to strongly held views over women bishops and gay priests was voiced at General Synod last month. Please fervently pray for this situation and for Dr. Rowan Williams as he seeks to put the work of Christ before schism.
FRI 12. Pray for all those attending the Mothering Sunday service for Knowle Primary School, asking that the service will be special for each child and parent. Several members of our congregation plan our services. Please pray today for the team planning the 7.30 p.m. service as they meet to reflect, discuss and pray together. Ask that God would continue to inspire them to plan and lead services which are creative, engaging, thought-provoking and worshipful.
SAT 13. At the last Churches Together service Eugene Schellenberge told us of a project to build and run a bakery in Ifakara, a small town some 250 miles SW of Dar es Salaam – the main reason was to ensure food all year round for the local population even when the harvest was poor. The aim now is to continue to provide bread to all the community especially children who can so easily become undernourished. Please pray for Eugene and his wife Margaret as they continue to fund raise for the Ifakra Bakery Project.
SUN 14. MOTHERING SUNDAY. “Lord the creator of life, thank you for a Mother’s touch upon our lives and for all that the word “Mother” conjures up in our minds – please make this day memorable for all those who care for us and give peace for those who will find today difficult”
