The latest round of celebration events in June begin with a massive flower festival at Knowle Parish Church, entitled "The Past - Our Future - A Floral Journey". TV presenter Charlie Dimmock, although she cannot attend, agreed to endorse the publicity by saying, "I wish I was going as this promises to be a truly amazing display - not to be missed!"
And we hope that many many people from the West Midlands will heed that advice and come to see the displays, as well as coming to a concert and barn dance, in June.

Knowle Parish Church is celebrating its 600th anniversary year. There have already been a number of events earlier in the year and June sees three special community attractions - a Flower Festival, Community Concert and Barn Dance.
All sorts of things have been done to publicise these - the attached photo shows the efforts of Henry Jerwood, Chairman of the 600th Anniversary Organising Committee, handing out posters on Knowle High Street.
The flower festival starts on Friday 6th June at 10.00am. It is also open for viewing on Saturday 7th June 10.00am - 5pm and Sunday 8th June 1pm - 4.30pm.
The church will be full of flowers, including 24 massive flower arrangements, designed and created to tell the story of those who have contributed over the 600 years to what is a very lively and active church today. An interesting aside is that the Church was built so that people did not have to wade across a river to get the the neighbouring parish church of Hampton-in-Arden. This is being depicted in flowers together with a water feature in the church's entrance porch.
June 13th and 14th are the dates for the Community Concert in the Church. The concerts start at 7.30 and contributors include Knowle and Arden Schools, Revels Drama Group, Strolling Players, Knowle Sinfonia, Cubs and Brownies, Sea Scouts, Male Voice Choir, Speakers Club, Youth Club and the Church Choir.
Finally, on June 21st at Stripes Hill Farm in Knowle, there will be a Barn Dance. Tickets are available from the Parish Office or from Christian Hughes - 01564 779765 and all of the village is invited.
All the 600 year celebrations are collecting money for World Vision, a Christian charity working internationally in communities where the essentials of life are missing. Initiatives include work with those affected by HIV/AIDS, help for a lost generation in Rwanda and those suffering from the effect of drought.
