Dear Home Group Leaders
One area that we can give our support, as part of our communion in faith as home groups, is by praying for our link mission partners. This is an important part of any ministry for the Lord. If you would like to be involved as a home group, could you please let us know? If you are already praying for any of the mission partners could you also let us know so that we can compile a list of who is being prayed for? Enclosed is a list of our long and short-term links.

TLM's hospital in Faizabad, India was established in 1938 to meet the needs of leprosy sufferers. Over the years it has offered physiotherapy, reconstructive surgery, health education activities, ulcer care, foot wear and has worked hard to reduce the stigma associated with the disease and to reduce the number of patients with deformities and disabilities. It has built up a reputation for love, care and compassion and is seen as a centre of excellence. Since leprosy has now been integrated into the Government health service Faizabad has taken up new challenges of meeting the needs of the Community. In October 2003 it changed its name to TLM Community Hospital. The main focus of the hospital is to meet the total needs of leprosy patients - physical, mental and spiritual. Now, as well as a major referral centre for complicated leprosy cases it is also providing general medical services like gynaecology and obstetrics, surgery and dermatology. A new block is being built and more staff will be employed for a growing hospital. Community clinics are also being planned to provide health and hygiene education.
Also at Faizabad is a Vocational Training Centre (VTC) for students aged 15 to 25 years. Nine trades are available including radio and TV mechanics, carpentry, welding, tailoring and driving (very popular by all accounts!).

We have a link with three Baptist pastors, George, Teofil and Daniel, in Romania. Knowle Parish Church supported two of the Pastors for some years but they now endeavour to support themselves through various means including two shops, with help and encouragement from CARE (Christian Aid to Romania and Elsewhere).

David and Andrea Taylor are working with Navigators out in Lilongwe, Malawi. They are on the national leadership team and have responsibility for Navigator work amongst the student groups based in Lilongwe and Blantyre. Their own work is focused at the Bible College and secondary schools in Lilongwe but they are also involved with oversight of other community ministries run by Navigators in Malawi.
