Report on the weekend away
Church Away to Swanwick
329 people from Knowle Parish Church went away on the weekend to Swanwick. Specialist groups for young people and children meant that families were fully provided for. Chris Neal who had spoken at Knowle in the Church's 600th anniversary year in 2003 came back to be our main speaker. A lively, enthusiastic and thoughtful person communicated unchanging truths about Jesus Christ in a stimulating way. Lots of time to talk and to integrate meant in a large church people came back knowing more people and feeling a greater sense of belonging. One ten year old said, ³The children's sessions at Swanwick were great fun. We played some crazy games (many involved wearing big blow up shoes!); we did loads of singing and dancing and talked about God. The Children's Group leader Jo Squires and her team made learning about God so much fun. The barn dance on Saturday night was great. Lots of children dressed as cowboys and cowgirls. The good thing about barn dances is you get to dance with lots of different people.²
